VF24 OR VF28 WHATS BEST
I have a 93wrx running 1.1bar with a powerfc, It has a hks front mount,headers,de-cat,induction kit. which turbo would be a good upgrade from the td04, the vf24 or vf28, or are they very similiar anyway.

From: Over 500ft/lbs of torque @ just 1.1bar
VF24 and VF28 are the same. They just use different actuators.
TD05 can handle a little bit more than the VF24/28 but spools slightly later.
I have both spare VF24 and TD05 for sale. PM me if interested.

Bob

I have a VF28 fitted to my 98 UK wagon, The guy I bought it from fitted a TD05 to his STi V wagon and got it remapped, we had a rolling road day and mine ran 9bhp behind his that was running 1.3 bar, mine was running 1.2 bar so I would say for all round flexibility the VF28 would be my choice.
My mods are VF28 turbo, hks v boost controller, hks turbo back super drager, k&n i/c, 380cc injectors, no remap
Last weekend ran 312bhp at PE 278lb torque on 1.2 bar, all afr's spot on etc

is your car a wagon???
if not it will have a TD05 as standard, the TD04 was on the wrx wagon only from 92-96
wrx saloon from 92-96 uses a TD05.
the TD05 is a more reliable turbo if you are wanting to run it over 1.2 bar boost, VF's seem to be at their limit of reliability at 1.2 bar.

Mine was fine at 1.8Bar........ but then it was a Hybrid vf22 - standard VF22 lasted 2000 miles before the bearing failed
I would agree with the experience that I've had with the VF series that they are best avoided on anything over about 320bhp........
