Default Sti 8intercooler/dump valve conversion

Just fitted VF35 turbo and STI 8 intercooler to my MY99 Classic impreza. The intercooler came with the sti dump valve but the dump valve did not have the conector for the recirulating pipe. Therefore to make do I blanked the return pipe. So now I effectively have an Atmospheric dump valve rather then a recirculating one! The car is due to be mapped on thursday if i dont manage to get the missing part to get it recirculating again by thursday will it be ok to get remap done with the bodged dumpvalve?

Also can anyone tell me whether post 2001 WRX dumpvalves are the same as the STI 8 one?

Thanks

you must plug the pipe on your DV because during running at no boost the DV is opened...

It's not like an atmospheric DV (believe me, I did what you want to do on my '99 "STI8-TMICed" impreza and it didn't work)

le sti...................I hope it is your english that is not qiute right because if you plug the D/V where does the air go when the D/V dumps (on a gearchange)

DOH!

when running no boost the vacuum hose acts on one side of the dump valve and the inlet sucks on the other, creating and equal vacuum so the piston does not move.

when you change gear, there is a boost pressure on the Inlet side of the D/V and (due to throttle body position) a vacuum on the other side so the piston is forced open and pumps the air.

Guys, try what le sti says...blank off the D/V.............and then feel the lag-free running for 100miles, at which piont the VF series turbos blow up!

Choice is yours, how much money you got?
