Default My turbo is poorly - help please

Pretty standard MY99 (full decat and hoses being the only mods) which I have had now for 6 years has become v poorly following a thrashing from the other half (she was late for work). She tells me there was no smoke or anything and that there wasn't any noise from the engine but the turbo is now not working or spinning up at all.

I'm hoping its not a blown turbo but can anybody point me towards other things to check before I take her off to hospital?

Tks

It certainly doesnt sound like the turbo has blown.

I have only ever blown a turbo once (in a R21 Turbo) and there was plenty of white smoke out of the exhaust then, even at tickover.

Its more likely to be a hose come adrift.

Can you actually hear the turbo spinning at all ?

Thanks guys

Hoses seem fine.

How can I check if the solenoid is dead?

No I can't hear any spin up at all

Are you sure it has not gone into limp home mode and restricting boost?

look on the top of the turbo and check that the actuator hasnt come off

also check the is tension in the bar sticking out of it, you should be able to move it with a good push and it should spring back.

(the actuator is the round thing on top of the turbo with a bar sticking out of it )
