Default are all short throw shifters for classics the same

theres a fella on ebay and hes selling them for 96+ but hes not sure if it will fit my 93import. does anyone know for sure? or is anyone selling one that will if not?

No, they won't fit. I think they changed on the version 2 MY95 onwards. Demon Tweeks do them I beleive, but they are expensive. I've heard stories about people aqcuiring the short throw gear levers and saying that they don't notice that much of a difference. I seem to remember one guy on here even cutting down his £150 short throw gear lever because it was not to his likeing!

You're better off saving your money, and doing a DIY hacksaw job on the thread of your existing lever. You can reduce the height to about an inch or so, I done it to mine, and it feels better when changing through gears.

id like to reduce the throw m8 not the hight. im sick of crunching 2nd and 3rd

Well in effect you are reducing the throw by cutting down the height, it's up to you if you want to spend hundreds on something that you can basicly acheive for nothing.

they should fit, i have a 99 spec one in my early shaped classic, only diffrence is the gear leaver sits a little further forward, but you get used to this

my old leaver was then took away, cut and welded and made into a quickshift for a 99 classic
