Air Conditioning Help
Hello
Recently i went to get the air con on my my93 wrx refilled. Only as usual with Scoobys never goes according to plan.
I understand the norm for the gas on scoobys is r34. Only for some reason mine has the r12 system on it!.
Having got my mate who works for a car air con company to bring home a charge kit the other weekend we couldnt do it as it seems to have a different system. (he can do it but I have to drive over 100 miles to get it done).
Does anyone know of anyone in the bristol area who can flush out the system and refill it for me?. I have the proper attachments.
It has to be re drained as it needs the new gas and oils as the r12 gas was banned after 1993 for containing cfcs.
any help appreciated, otherwise i face a long drive to basingstoke and a day off work.

the very first scoobs were R12.
after 93 all cars changed to R134A ,
you cannot put R134A into an R12 designed system as the molecular structure is smaller on R134A and would leak through o rings and pipes.
some companies may try to sell you a retrofit replacing all pipework etc, but that is not needed.(expensive)
any decent company will offer you a refill with an equivalent gas to R12 such as RS24.
