Whats the best Octane Booster for STI?
Hi
I've got a Nov 03 STI (Type UK) and live in Ireland, where unfortunately they have recently taken super unleaded petrol off the market. So, I've had to run my car on 95 octane unleaded with octane booster.
Now, the octane booster I got, well I don't know if its the best. Can anyone recommend an octane booster that will give me the desired performance that super unleaded would? I don't want to harm the car in any way, but I notice a fair difference in performance with ordinary 95 unleaded.
Does most octane booster really do the trick? Do they bring 95 unleaded up to around 98?
Basically, whats the best for my Scooby and where can I get it - would prefer to buy in bulk.

Thanks guys.
Is there any harm in running the car on 2 much octane? I just checked out that NF ones and it would seem that you can go above 100 RON with it?
Cheers!

You may find that you need to change the lamdba sensor more frequently, but other than that you should be ok.
You will know when you are using too much as the inside of your tail pipe will go orange
NF for me
Dave.

OK your wrong most of the good Subaru tuners use NF. My car didn't like Millers, still got Knocklink activity. Used NF and only got the first green at red line.
The lambda sensor is in the exhaust somewhere (not sure on the newage cars), I think it monitors the air/fuel ratio. You will know when it dies as your fuel consumption will go through the roof. Costs about £100 for a new one and they are eay to fit yourself.
