LPG Convertion ?
My first scooby was LPG converted. Had about half the boot space left, plus an ugly filler plug drilled into the rear wing on the side by the original filler hole.
I found finding LPG garages few and far between but worked my journeys around them. LPG 4 yrs ago was about 30p Litre so costs were very favourable. The LPG conversion was already done, however recently looking at doing it myself, figures were in the region of £1500+
I had a switch inside to change from petrol to LPG and performance didnt suffer. There was a minute or so of jerkiness when swapping during drive as you cant start the car on LPG, I was told always start the car on petrol, then change when driving (case of flicking switch)
I would have it done again if my miles warranted it, it will pay for itself, if you do the sums

Just a couple of questions:
1) Did you have any problems with the piston rings i.e. Smoking.
I have heard that running a flat four on LPG can give premature wear to the engines?
2) Was the car reliable?
I have been on a couple of sites and used the conversion calculators it works out with the current mileage that I am doing I could save over £1,100 a year? Not to be sniffed at.
Thanks again.
Anyone else got any experience of LPG?
