Default Vos chip / scoobyecu chip??

Since i've bought my scoobie (1995 uk turbo) back in december i have been searching constantly on how to increase the boost, what it can be set at, what works and what doesn't.

I seem to come accross the same thing over and over, if i up the boost i'm probably going to blow the thing up.

Although the two options i have found, VOS chip and scoobyecu chip seem to be the only options of inceasing the power safely.

I dont want to replace the complete Ecu as for me this is mega money.. i'm not up for paying £700+ for 50bhp give or take.

my old motors, the cossie and gtir were simple to tune, it seams that they were made to hold alot more power than the factory gave them and a simple boost controler or chip gave 300bhp without a problem, but the UK scoob seems to be at it's near limit in standard form.

I appreciate the usual mods such as filter/exhaust... i've done these already (zero sports pannel filter, power flow back box mated to a vortex center section and some other unknown downpipe i bought off ebay..) the power flow back box will be getting the push shortly in favour of a vortex version though)... so with that in mind my 215bhp will be slightly higher.. i'd say maybe 230-240 but cant be sure as the nearest rolling road is 300+ miles away.

how would my uk car take to an avcr and somthing like an hks afr, (boost and fuel control) this is the setup i ran on my gtir, although it did drink the fuel like no tomorrow, which was understandable as the afr increased the fueling right accross the range. the cossie was slightly different as i bought the car all set up at 370bhp.

You can get a custom mapped scooby ecu for about 400 quid. Well worth it in my opinion. You could try one of the 'standard' scoobyecu or vos chip for about 150quid but much more risky.

Pay the 400 and get it mapped for your car.

A z4 ecu is another option. These can be bought secondhand for about 150-200 quid and should give you 30 or 40 more horses quite safely. your car has a TD05 right???

1995 - 1996 JAP WRX with grey and black seats (not red and black)

I can vouch for the Z4 and it IS safe on uk optimax fuel

Your 1995 Uk Turbo should come as standard with a TD05 turbo
