Question Basic servicing

Hello all...

Recently bought a 94 WRX from a friend, and as I do whenever i get a new car... i want to give it a service...
Now.... the lack of a workshop manual is going to hinder me somewhat so ive got a few questions, apologies if these have been asked a million times before!

What is the engines oil capacity?
What is the best type of oil to use?
What is the engines coolant capacity?
What are the best spark plugs to use?
Is it necessary to drop the engine to change the spark plugs?
What oil does the gearbox take and where is the fill/drain point?
What oil do the diffs take, and where are the fill/drain points?
Where is the best place to get things like oil filters, HT leads, plugs etc?

Im sure some of these will be a contentious issue, but all your opinions are greatfully received!

ta

oo, in addition to this... i had a look at the dipstick earlier and it only has one notch on it.... im assuming this is the max line?
Sorry if this sound stupid and newbie-ish but most other cars ive encountered has had two notches...

Oil capacity 4.5 litres, including pre fill of filter

IMO 10w40 if road car, 10w50 if on track

Not sure, I just fill the rad, then header tank up, turn her over, refill header etc.

NGK PFR6B if under 300HP, PFR7B if over - either type gap to 0.7

No, panel filter housing off on offside (no probs if it has an induction kit), water bottle removal on nearside. Be careful with the coil packs, the bolt only has to be nipped up when refitting, do not over tighten.

Castrol driveline 75w90, not sure where the drain plug is, refill through the dipstick pipe - slowly!

Same oil for your rear diff (it isn't an LSD on a 94WRX)

Personally Alyn of AS Performance will supply next day, he will also advise you on all these questions

HTH
