Has anyone else got rust in engine bay? Specifically on metal coolant pipes running at bottom of radiator and higher up. Also metal fan cowling has started? I have MY00. Guy before use to use steam cleaner on it which I really dont like. Also noticed it around flywheel area and metal casing radiator sits on at bottom. I assume this is common problem and I guess either remove rust proof and repaint or replace if bad. Does anyone coat there engine bay with protective coating, if so what?

Ah Ok have you got any pics of your engine bay showing the rust. I can take some of mine later to show you. Just trying to guage how bad mine is really. Still looks solid but looks unsightley!

 

Sorry Moray, no pics and I'm not in the mood to climb about underneath in the wet!! As far as I can tell, it's just surface corrosion for now, but it does look pretty crappy. Stick some pics up and I'll compare
