What mileage before enigne fully loose??
I know it depends on how it is driven, but just wondering if my 7k mile WRX is as free reving as it will ever get as standard.
Anyone notice a big performance difference once they have a few miles under their belt?

YES!!
At 56,000 miles mine is just loosened up, faster than ever and returning about 30mpg!!
It was about 42,000miles when I noticed what had happened, so much smoother ....
It depends how it was run-in ... I was very gentle with it for 3,000miles and never really thrash it anyway.
