Default K&N INDUCTION 2 GREEN PANEL

I"ve been to tsl today for some gauges fitted great but while i woz there they"ve shown me 2 meltered engines because ov induction kits so i decided to get a green panel filter i fitted it when i got home and went for a drive it woz ok until i got home and stopped on the drive the revs woz flucturating up and down and trying too stall as this new filter nackered my maf i also took the negative lead off the battery for half an hour after fitting the filter PLEASE HELP

Question

Are these filters "dry" or oil based?. Give TSL a ring on Monday!. Twas going to buy a green filter myself, but i'll watch this thread.........

I fitted my green panel the other day mate with no probs but never had an ind. kit so can't really comment.

Try resting the ECU and see what it comes up with

First off there is nothing wrong with the K&N 57i kit, it doesn't affect maf scaling and if properly installed is not maf damaging, however it does sound as though your maf has been damaged, possibly in the transfer process, in resetting the ecu by disconnecting the battery (although thats not necessary when changing an induction) you have rest the ecu to defaults and lost its fuel learning, that has exposed the fact that your maf is probably faulty.
The panel filter in its own right should not do this, mechanical shock will though.

its so comfusing some people say induction kits are ok some people say not at the end ov the day we just want to look after our engines do"nt we so does that mean a new maf on monday then bob

i"ve fitted the new maf today i took the battery lead off for 40 mins to reset ecu and took it on a good drive floored it in every gear (after warming up) when i came to idle it ticked over alot better but every now an then it spluttered a little from 250 rev down to 150 revs will this go in time i"ve heard somwhere about boost runs av i dun it right by flooring it in all gears cheers.
