centre console???

I am not 100% certain which consoles these are and whether you mean just the facia panel or the whole centre console.
I have just removed the facia panel that surrounds the gearstick and includes the clock, *** tray, lighter and radio from my 97 Sport. I've replaced it with the same item from an import that has no clock but has a DIN size cubby, and 2 cup holders. Below the lighter there is an extra cubby but that won't fit due to the airbag module. You will also need the metal cage that supports the radio, DIN cubby, *** try and lighter.
The 98 model has a completely facelifted interior.

Not to my knowledge, the armrest from the 98 facelift interior will not fit.
I bought an armrest specifically for the <=1997 model and that just clips onto the back of the middle portion of the centre section. It was well worth doing.
On a friends car I relocated the headlamp adjuster switch to the side of the handbrake and removed that little bracket that it sits on. Then I epoxied over the hole in the bottom of the tray. This frees up a tiny bit more space to put car clutter. Maybe not what you want.
