Default 0-60 times(sti v6)

just wondering what realistic 0-60 time i should expect from my sti version 6 and does anyone know why they are supposed to have 300bhp standard as appose to 280 like previous models or have i been misinformed.

IIRC a gentlemans agreement between the government and car firms meant that all JDM cars were subject to an "official" maximum of 280bhp. AFAIK this applied to the Sti 6.

I don't have the exact figures to hand, but would envisage your Sti being capable of a mid 4 second run to 60, add a further second if you don't want to be brutal with the car!

It'll certainly leave the nova brigade standing!

IIRC the STI type R and RA were 4.2 as a result of the short gearing (non short gearing STI 4.8)

Wink

A very quick one though and that's funny

On a serious note I'd expect your car to be about the same as a P1 0-60 but the sti is better overall (and I love the P1!!!!) I'm not jealous.....Much

In book form the STi is meant to put out 280bhp (as per Gentleman's Agreement mentioned above) but in reality this is closer to 300bhp!
My STi Type-R V5 is standard apart from a full de-cat and is putting out 330bhp(running on 100 octane fuel). I've seen 0-60 times for STi Type-R's as 4secs flat!

Exactly, basically, it was a don't ask, don't tell arrangement. Most manufacturers were producing cars with "unofficial" outputs somewhat higher than the 280 ceiling. 22B 280bhp??....yeah right!!

Nice figure from the STi 5 Bet it flies. Are you getitng it remapped?

Skyline GTR's are subject (as are all jap cars) to this agreement too. Put an R34 GTR on the rollers and I'd put more than a few quid on it getting over 300bhp!!

Indeed.

Am I right in thinking that this agreement been scraped now?

I've been in a standard STi Type-R doing 160mph!!!!!! (with still more to go!) and I had my UK Turbo 2000 at 150mph! (conducted on an Airfield).

You can get EVERY detail about Impreza's from the 'Impreza' book. You can buy it from Amazon for £24. Its a brilliant book and source of information.
