What fuel are you running the car on and what mods do you have?

The ECU reset wont help any, the car now has to learn all over again which can take a few tanks of fuel.
Do you always get your fuel from the same garage? and have you tried adding more OB? (and which one do you use?)

Ah that says it all
Your plugs are too hot, you need to use the likes of NGK 7's, if you have the manual it should tell you exactly what type to use on an STi.

6's are definately wrong for an STi, you will need to confirm it with your user manual, but my MY03 JDM STi runs NGK7's
Change them for the cooler 7's, this should sort your det problem out (hopefully).

What piggy back chip have you got - you really should get an ECUtek map, much safer

I had exact same thing happen, the ecu had prob learned to accept (to a certain extent) how much det u had previously and so would not retard the ign as much, now u have reset the ecu it will be keeping things on the very safe side of safe! And will take a while to relearn what is acceptable det.

But basically you have pre det cos 6s are too hot, you should have 7s in anyway.

is it an adjustable piggy back? if so, you might need it setting up again.
