Default 2 port to 3 port solenoid on my98uk

When switching from 2 port to 3 port boost solenoid, does it still need a restrictor. If so, where does it need to go and what size is best??

Thanks.

What have you done so far in terms of mods to warrant a 3 port boost solenoid.....?

Are you aware that you cannot just swop from a 2 to a 3 port solenoid?

I have a 3 port ready to go on my car, and will be having it remapped. I know how to plumb it in but was unsure weather or not the restrictor had to go in, and if so into which hose. I think the existing restrictor from the 2 port is 1mm.

Hi,

I asked the same question when upgrading mine, also uk98. Might be wrong but I think a 2 port solenoid tries to get 2 readings through 1 port hence the restrictor.
Because the new solenoid has 3 ports the restrictor is not needed.

No restrictor needed on a 3-port. It is only there on a 2-port to control amount of air the Wastegate Actuator sees.
