Default Engine Missing at high boost

Hi All,
Have a slight issue with my Sti V2. I have a gizzmo chip and a turbosmart boost controller. I also have a sponge airfilter and a free flow 2.5inch exhaust system. The problem I have is that when I want more that say 13psi boost... my engine starts missing? I am using 97unleaded fuel and I also use 97 lead fuel and this does not solve the problem... please help!!!
many thanks
SanMan

are you sure it's missing and it's not the fuelcut?
Did you change the sparkplugs recently?

It could be running lean at high boost. Maybe try changing the fuel filter, failing that it could be the pump.

Have to admit I don't know much about Scoobs (yet ) Is the Gizzmo chip a custom map?

Does the ECU still have control of the boost controller? Is it detecting det and knocking back the boost level in attempt to stop your engine become lots of tiny, expensive, broken pieces?

Japanese cars are mapped to 100RON fuel, so if you're on 97RON without either a remap or Octane Booster then you could well be suffering from detonation.

40K on a set of plugs - could well be the cause!!! Coil packs are a common problem too that give this symptom but not sure if your model has the centre mounted coil or coil packs.
