Question Pressure exchange solenoid valve

I have a `94 wrx wagon jap import with a scoobyECU fitted, full de-cat, k&n panel filter.Just yesterday the car was hesitating when it usually feels at it`s "torqueyist" and it went into safe mode(9psi instead of 15.5psi). No cel light showed but when I plugged together my black memory connectors it showed code 45 which is the Pressure Exchange Solenoid Valve. Am I correct in thinking this is the one next to the Boost Solenoid Valve and if so what is the cure, Is it replacement or can it be cleaned etc. Is it coincidence that this happened 4 weeks after de-cat and if so will it happen again if replaced?
Thanks in advance.....
Carcuss.

the Pressure exchange solenoid is indeed next to the boost control solenoid..
You can clean it yes, it might just be an old code though.

Now you have switch engine off and back on is it still in limp home mode?

Try resetting the ecu..

if the same code returns and cleaning it doesn't get rid of it then try a secondhand one from www.hdcsubaru.com for example.

Thanks JGM for that. Do I clean the cylindrical unit and the box or just one of them?
The car does reset upon re-start and only seems to happen when playing or when engine is slightly laboured.I also think it is overboosting slightly when laboured.

That sounds more like overboost or det than anything to do with pressure exchange solenoid I am afraid to say.

Do you know if you have a TD04 map in the Scoobyecu?? as I believe your car would have come standard with a TD04 but more scoobyecu's are a TD05 map.

Might be worth re-connecting J1 resistor and seeing if it does it on the original map..
reconnecting J1 will switch back control to the original map, no need to remove the scoobyecu.
