I am going to upgrade my standard exhaust to a S/S item. From other threads ive read, the issue seems to be with the center cat removal = MOT. Put me right somebody please, its my understanding that:

1. Back box can be changed no problem.
2. The center cat can be removed (leaving in place the front item), but your'll have to find a "friendly mot man?"
3. Buy a sports cat for the center section to remain legal

when ive seen the adverts for "cat back", i assume that is from the center cat not the front item?

Sorry if some of these are stupid question, but for the sake of spending cash for 364 days then more for a couple of hrs - no thanks - know what i mean

 

You can pass MOT with just one of the cats fitted only, either one.

The best option imho is total de-cat and replace middle cat for MOT, 30 min job.
