moving clutch bite point
My clutch bite point moves up when the car is run for long periods. I have done a search on this and it seemed that the slave cylinder was a lightly culprit. I have replaced this but it still moves up.
Two things left to try I guess are the master cylinder, and the clutch itself (bearing).
How can diagnose which it is? One idea I had was to look at the movement of the clutch release arm when the car was hot and when the car was cold. If the arm moves through the same range of motion in both cases then it must be to do with the clutch and bearing, but if the release arm range of motion has changed after a run then it must be to do with the hydraulic system. Do you agree?

Mine does this too but it doesnt always stay in one posistion. When cold its near the floor and moves up a little when warm. If I stop the car and come back 5 mins later its all the way at the top and seems a lot harder to press, it can make for some jerky driving!

Nezz 10, yours sounds identicle to mine! I talked to one mechanic today and he had a theroy that something was expanding when hot as bikerthou has said. Someone else with the same problem said it was solved with a new master cylinder!
