Bugeye cold air inlet

Bugeye cold air inlet
Hi All
I need to fit a cold air inlet to my bugeye RCMS induction kit after the 40 degree C plus intake temps at Well Lane recently
I was thinking of one of these to put in place of the Fog light
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalo...ID&from=search
Any ideas on whether I should go for a round/ rectangle or 2.5 or 3 inch ?
Any help most appreciated

Thanks for the tip...I have looked on the RS website and found this
http://rswww.com/cgi-bin/bv/browse/M...tockNo=4497290
it's only sold in 4 metre lengths so it would be cheaper for me to get the Demon tweeks hose along with an inlet. I was going to get the inlet to attach the hose to as people had found it tricky to fashion a home made item and then attach a hose to it....
Thanks

I fitted a 100mm one of these
http://www.demon-tweeks.co.uk/catalo...CODE=P/CC9008B
to my bugeye in place of the o/s foglight, perfect fit. Feeds straight up into my airbox. Just have to empty the crap out of the airbox occasionally and knock out the Green panel filter. Works well though, with noticably cooler intake temps.

Brilliant... Looks like I'm sorted, Thanks I think I'll order some hose and a duct from demon tweeks can I ask a couple of really simple questions
1 How much hose did you order ?
2 In just a few words can you give me a quick guide to fitting....I was wondering ifI needed to take the inner wing off !!
Thanks

Shaun,
If you've ordered the kit then the length of hose you get is about perfect. On mine I removed enough clips on the inner wing to allow me to bend it out of the way, it seems like there are millions of the buggers. Attaching at the foglight end is easy just push chrome ring through the hole and attach the hose to the back with the jubilee clip. The airbox end is a bit more tricky because the feed hole is only about 60 mm. I managed to get a piece of conicol hose from b&q, 100mm down to about 40mm over about 150mm length. Attached hose, pushed through hole and cut as short as possible. Quick squirt of silicon under the bonnet in the small gap between the airbox and the inner wing. Job done. Cooler induction air

On my trip over the A69 today the intake temps were 2 degrees above ambient for 60 MPH or above and about 5 degrees above ambient for pottering aroung the 30-40 zones !!
Ambient this morning was about 11 degrees .................stuck in the Newcastle traffic for 20 mins had the intake temps at 50 degrees C !!!

I have fitted the cold air hose from the foglight up through the inner wing and out adjacent to the induction kit and it has dropped the intake temps by 18-20 degrees so feel it was well worth it
If you are running the OEM airbox this seems to be pretty well sorted already and someone made 330 ish BHP at well lane recently using the bugeye OEM airbox with better filter
Have you got an induction kit ??
Cheers

RCM induction kit... mmmmmm
Iv'e got some Demon Tweeks cooling hose left over you can have for the cost of P&P and a pint (of coke) at the NBO ..LOL
I got confused between feet and metres (it's an age thing) so have about 4 feet left over which is enough.
I went for the revotec 6" diameter cone to fit into the foglight as I'm a complete spaz when it comes to this sort of thing but a stiff plastic cone or the top cut off a large plastic bottle would do as well !! Must Thank Ninnybobs for all the help at this point
e-mail or PM if you fancy the hose and I'll send pics of the install so far
Cheers
Shaun
Edited to mention I just "copy" what Ninnybobs has done
