Default fitted prodrive ecu , but wont run?

hi ive fitted a prodrive ecu to my 1997 catalunya but it will not run now it starts up for about 5 seconds then dies the check engine light is continouisly flashing , the ecu has
SP STI 10010 56010
A18-000DV8 WRITTEN ON IT , AND A PRODRIVE WARRANTY LABEL ASWELL

can anyone tell me does it need programming to my key to make it run thanks kirby32 or is there any other threads on here for the same ? thanks kirby32

I might be wrong but the STI ecu's are different from a WRX, the STI has additional sensors and I think the crank sensor pin is in a different position. If you do a search for fitting an STI ecu into a wrx you should find out more.

the key has to be programed else it would be very easy to pinch your scooby by just plugging in any old ecu

Yep you need someone with a select monitor or take it down your local scoob garage to get it programmed with the transponder in your key.....i think they charge about 40 pickles

My old ecu did this (on my93) after I had messed with it!

Is it the same cure for mine do you think? (ecu is also chipped)

Can anyone tell me if i would have the same trouble putting a my99 801 ecu on my00??,the 801 seems to be a better ecu.Well so i have read

2 foot,

You will have no problems doing it,i have done it and run the 801 now,which i will be selling as i'm getting a remap.

Only MY97/98 ECUneed to be reprogrammed to the key fob.
Pre97 don't have immobilsers as standard
Post 98 do have immobilsers but it is not part of the ECU, so they can be swapped about.
