Default Is my DV kippered?

I hope not, but here goes: in the Haynes book by C Rees it says to listen out for a 'mooing' noise from the turbo as this indicates a DV which is stuck open and today I heard what could be described as this from about 4000 rpm, though it goes/gets hidden by the sound of the engine, at higher revs.

The car is a UK '97 turbo with 80k on the clock.

Thanks in advance

Nick

sounds like it ... 97/98 were prone to leaking.

call it an opportunity to upgrade

I just bought a shiny Forge Recirc. basically identical to the plastic piece of crap that came off, except its tuneable and sounds a lot nicer. Not loud by any standard but a cleaner flutter noise.
