Last year i had a power pack go, subaru replaced it and now one of them has gone again(although i dont know which one yet!). this causes flushing of the bore,which at idle speed causes a slight miss. why does has this happened again or is it just one of those things. is there a 3rd party power pack i should consider?

I presume you are talking pre97 car?

they fail all about the same time.. I'd replace the 3 you haven't already changed yet..

the heat causes them to break up.. they last about 5years of 100,000miles roughly

there is no other viable alternative.. bosch do some coils which are only available in OZ but not really worth the hassle

 

ps: I presume you mean Coil packs not power packs?
