Default Advice needed?

Im looking for some advice....

I hav just purchased a very well looked after std MY00 and im looking to spend some money modding it.

I have around £1700, and I dont know what to buy first?

I want to add some style to the car, with some alloys, a High level spoiler and some eibach springs. This leaves me with around £700 - £800 to spend.

What do you recomend I should do:

Option 1:Upgrade with a green / sti pannel filter. Then a full de-cat Blitz exhaust. However if I do this do I need to get a remap?

Option 2: Filter, cat back system, boost gauge, knock link.

Option 3: Filter, back box, boost gauge, knock link, ugraded brake pads

Any advice or other options are much appreciated.

Get the Eibachs fitted and have your geometry set up properly, get the bumpsteer mod done while you are at it. Maybe drop links and a stiffer rear anti-roll bar too?!? Powerstation in Cheltenham would be your best bet.

You will not need a re-map for exhaust and filter mods but once you have the full de-cat it would be worthwhile for more bhp/ lb ft.

Blitz are very good exausts but are expensive. There are a lot of good systems available for less money.

It's always advisable to sort the brakes and handling before upping the power but a new exhaust etc will not make it a rocket ship so the choice is yours.

It reduces understeer significantly - shims are placed under the steering rack which prevent the wheels from toeing out when the suspension is compressed. Manufacturers tend to dial in understeer as it is deemed safer than oversteer, this mod will greatly reduce that 'safety' feature and leave the car far more neutral.

Cost IIRC is around £120 including geometry set up.

Use the search function for peoples opinions etc.

No worries Chris.

The mods I have got the most enjoyment from still have to be the handling work Powerstation has done and releasing the burble by replacing the std exhaust.

Have fun
