Default sti 4 ecu into a 1997 uk

can any one tell me what gains i will get by putting a sti version 4 ecu on to my 1997 uk impreza turbo with a sti intercooler and vf24 turbo with headers and water spray thanks kirby32

sumbody once told me that they dont fit?

i am not 100% on that though?>

ive been told its a three plug ecu the same as mine ? but not sure either kirby32

Default will this ecu even fit !!!!!!!!!!!!!

will it fit same ammount of plugs etc and would i have to have the key prodramed again for the transponder kirby32

If it's a JDM ECU then it'll mapped for 100 RON fuel, so even if you do get it to work then you'll have to watch for det and run octane booster in the UK. You'd probably be better off with an aftermarket system like a PowerFC - mapped for Uk fuel, and probably a better performance result as well.

No gains as your car wont even start with this ecu fitted.
The STi engine looks similar to yours but has considerable differences, crank sensors (i believe) are different, along with injectors etc.
If you want to go the modding route, speak to Rich Wild at Jap Innovations (www.Jap-innovations.co.uk) and ask him what hes done to his MY97

will fit, will work (with wiring mods) but as already mentioned will be far too advanced. rev limit will also be raised above stnds UK specs.
