Backbox Fitting - whats involved
Just about to purchase a Ninja Back Box for MY97 car - what exactly is involved in fitting.
My girlfriends brother is a qualified mechanic (has since changed jobs) says he'll have a look and see if he can fix it - as longs as there is no welding involved.
How does the BB fit to the centre piece (standard)
Remember you're talking to a complete novice here!

Really easy to do if there is two of you, a bit harder on your own but still possible. You just unbolt the backbox (2 x 14mm if i remember rightly) from the centre section, try not to destroy the gasket. A bit of washing up liquid on the "hangers" and off it comes. There are 3 rubber hangers, 2 are obvious the other is tucked away slightly. If it doesn't just come away then it's still hooked into the third one. Dont just swing on it as you may break the rubber!! (How funny does that sound
) The opposite applies to attach the new one.
It either fits or it doesn't
The only adjustment for the whole system is found on the down pipe, if however you have decatted your downpipe then your pretty much stuck with the system angle
.
It should take you longer to get your car and tools out of the garage than it does to change a back box
