I've got a GEMS ecu mapped by Steve Simpson, Switchable fuel map 95/98 octane (always run on 98, 95 for emergencies) and the best bit, anti-lag, which is just superb. Cost about 2k but read about what they do and you will see that it's money well spent, makes all your bolt on bits work together properly. Daz

ScoobyClinic charge over £300 plus VAT for a ScoobyECU so I doubt that theyll be beating Andy Forrest by £100.....

Power Engineering offer MY98 remaps as well. £625 plus VAT, IIRC. They're in the South East (West London)

Thumbs down

I just got a reply to an email from Power Engineering this morning saying they are unable to offer the Phase 1 remapping anymore. So now I'm stuck as my Phase 1 map needs some fine tuning.

A power FC fitted and mapped for about £750 is going to be your best bet. Although it's a lot of money, it's an investment. They are very effective, easy to tune, or find someone to tune compared to a GEMS, reliable, adn have good resale value.

Andy.F is indeed based in Scotland.
Might be a good idea to do a advanced search on the username Andy.F, Im sure you get a number from that to allow you to call him and discuss your requirements....

if you can get a few pals together who need mapping then for the cost of the airfare Andy has been known to travel

Well that's just plain weird because my MY98 is in at Power Engineering for a remap right now. They said they were busy (I booked it about 2 weeks in advance) but no indication that they were stopping doing them.

My spec is a UK MY98 turbo, being fitted with a sport DP and decat center and K&N panel filter, H&S Back box.

Added*** the PE site says its now a phase 2 ECU upgrade for MY97-98 cars, not a phase 1. My mistake. I'll have to get in touch to see what the difference is between the phase 1 and 2 ECU upgrade. ****

I'd recommend the Apexi purely for the fact that Andy will tweak your map for £50 a time, i.e. after each mod.

Then there's the (relatively) low initial outlay, good resale, the commander...
