Default Seat Belts

Just interested - my drivers side seatbelt socket has just failed - i.e. I can't plug the seatbelt in - a bit of a bugger - but Subaru Assist came to the rescue (MY99 bought with Subrau warranty) and swapped with passenger side (5 minute job) - so at least I can drive the car - no front seat passengers though.

Has anyone else had this problem - I've never known it happen before - and I've had a few high mileage Alfas in my time .

Now need to get the warranty to sort it out - the catch is not listed as a seperate item , so it's going to cost someone £90.31 + VAT (at retail) for a complete seat belt assembly for an item that presumably costs less than a tenner - glad I'm won't be paying, I weonder if they'll fit a complete new seatbelt if so I'd imagine the labour costs will be astronomical

It's an odd thing to happen, however, fitting an entire new seatbelt should take no more then 1/2 hr tops!!
