i have a wrx 2002 with full de-cat,filter and dump valve and an sti intercooler on its way(thanks to steve).Could someone tell me wot turbo is on it standard and if to upgrade which one to put on.I am going to get it remaped and would it be better to upgrade turbo before remap.I would like to get about 300bhp out of it wot else would i have to do.CHEERS. mo mo

Your car is fitted with a TD04 Turbo as standard. With a Tek 3 remap you may not be far off your original figure of 300bhp.

To exceed this figure, the natural progression would be to a TD05FE turbo.

IMHO, get the TD04 remapped and enjoy. To go further then starts to cost more money.

You will know when the time is right to change the turbo.

S/H TD05's are changing hands for around 350 quid.

Don't forget that you should uprate your fuel pump before you have any form of remap or approach 300bhp.

 

Then your injectors sti pink tops its a straight swop for your blues,then your headers gets the gas out quicker then once your bored with the power start again ...change the turbo for a TD05/20g the list is endless once you start and you get the bug you cant stop ninnybobs should know.....martins last word were( then thats it )Iv heard that at least 4 times in the last 12 months

Ninnybobs and Gussy have MY01 / 02 Bugeye's like me

We all went for the TD05 route and are well pleased with things as Ninnybobs runs over 360 BHP and Gussy probably the same It just doesn't stop there !!

If you want to run near to (but below 300 BHP) then I hear that with carefull mapping and cheaper mods AndyF might be able to help....

Midlife I woulnt know what she is putting out until andy.f. does the final tweeks to the map and I get it on well lanes rollers in march all I can go off is what ninnybobs is putting out as the specs are almost identical.

Phase 1 - Full Decat and Panel Filter, Knocklink................then thats it !!!!!!!!!!

Phase 2 - Headers, fuel pump, STI Intercooler and Tek3......then thats it !!!!!!!!!!

Phase 3 - TD05FE turbo, Injectors and another remap.......then thats it !!!!!!!!!

Phase 4 - APS FMIC, RCMS Induction, 3" Revolution Exhaust,
Fuel Pressure Reg,and another remap................then thats it!!!!!!!!!

Phase 5 - To be notified (but has already started)

THEN THATS IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
