Check for oil level being too high, really anything over half way between low and high when the car is cold is probably too much. This can foul the boost control solenoid on the drivers side with oil. If you connect the plugs under the dash to get the ECU doing it's test cycle where is turns all the motors and relays on and off and then spray plenty of brake cleaner down the hoses into the boost control solenoid you can clean it out. A search will give you more info on doing this.

You prob already checked, but back to basics, split in vac hose (magnifying glass job), or loose hose clip.

Hi, john, managed to get that steering coil sorted! I've noticed that I get fuel cut occassionally, but only with less that 1/4 tank of optimax. Fill it up and see if it still happens. Impreza's seem to be quite prone to suffering fuel starvation.

i had this problem on leaving tsl for a service.took it back and they located a pinhole in one of the small turbo hoses, think it went to the boost control solenoid.took them over an hour to find.they used some sort of small pump with a gauge on it.hope that helps!
