can anybody tell me what the symptoms of water getting sucked into the induction kit.think it has just happened.

general spluttering and sudden loss of power, should restore itself.

It depends on the amount of water; Ive seen the cylinder head blown of several Porsche 944s after waters got into the airbox.....

I totally filled up my Citroen Xantia with water once when i crossed a deep ford thinking i was in the Landy. Spent all night pouring the water out of the intercooler etc, and shes still running fine today!

If you stop the engine with water then be prepared to do some drainage, but i'd take your airbox out, and make sure ur filter is dry (Assuming its a panel jobbie) and just have a good inspection before you go hammering about
