Safe boost pressure level for Sti V
Guys,
Sure this has been asked before......... I have just purchsed a Blitz ID3 SBC sequential boost control for my STI 5, which is running a Front pipe and HKS Silent Hi Power exhaust and Sti Air Filter. I would like to know the safe amount of boost pressure. I have been informed by the installer that 1.1bar is ok but 1.2bar may be too much, any advice? I am carefully monitoring my Defi boost gauge to make sure I don't over boost. The standard car was close to 1.3bar but only peaked, Using a boost controller it would hold the higher pressure and may cause problems?
Cheers

The advice you have been given by the installer is pretty good; you do not want to peak over 1.25 - 1.3 bar on stock engine internals and should be able to level out at 1 -1.1 bar. Also it always pays to use a good octane booster and super unleaded and a install a knock link if you plan to run consistantly (artificially?) high boost levels. Should be a nice toy!
