what is the difference between a sti block and a wrx one. i know that the pistons are different is there any others

free bump for you mate, I would also like to know the difference, I thought the STi 6 was a semi closed deck and wrx/gt being "open" but not sure, hope the boffins come to our rescue

What year are you talking about. MY97 to MY00 all had open deck blocks. New age STis have semi closed deck, WRX open. Pre97 gets a little more complicated.

From what I can remember a STi6 came out late in 99 and ended towards the end of 00, the last STi in the "classic" shape
