Question Engine number help required please

I have a spare engine for sale, and have had a number of enquiries. Just wondered if someone could look at this thread and help identify what type the engine is please?

I'm pretty sure it's just a standard WRX (phase 1 engine)

The thread is here :-

Thanks in advance, Phill

Was this Bens old engine? if it was then it is a phase 1 engine , if it came from a MY97 then it would be a 1.5 , with the coil in the middle .
Cheers Dave

Dave,

How's it going mate?? Yes it is Bens old engine mate!! Just got the thing back from my Ex-misses, as she apparently sold it, along with the RS and all the bits

So its a phase 1 then, sounds like I got a phase 1.5 in my RB5?

Thanks for all the advise, I need to talk 2 u soon about the tappets on my Legacy, as they're a little noisey when the engine first starts on cold

Phill
