Default MOT Emissions?????

I own a MY93 wrx an its the time of year for a new mot will it pass without a cat? does it have to be tested as a cat fitted car or not? any info greatfully recieved!

Right i swapped my exhaust system for a standard 1 put it back through the emissions test an it made no difference infact if anything it was slightly worse any ideas?

if the exhaust hasn't been used for a while very possibly clogged up get the engine warm and give it a good thrash to clear the exhaust drive back and check emmisions should be noticable difference.

failing that probably Lambda sensor faulty.
