It's not a breather...it's a vacuum pipe 
On my MY00 it joins a takeoff on the inlet manifold runner closest to the regulator. - On the earlier models, i think it joins to the chamber in the centre of the inlet manifold ...(although I'm sure that somebody more knowledgable than me will be along in a minute to give you a definitive answer!
