Default Are the Different Lambda Sensors on a New Age Interchangable

Just got my new headers fitted today but when taking the lambda off the old headers the mechanic stripped the thread on it, so he put the lambda from my old centre section in its place but the engine management light comes on now. The lambda sensor worked fine before I changed the centre section for a decat, both sensor look the same (4 wire, blue, black and 2white) so I would have thought that these could be swapped over without a problem.

Anybody got any suggestions on this?

Cheers

Scott
