I've read numerous threads on which lambda sensor to fit to my MY95UK Turbo. Now it's kinda understandable why i'm confused when you've got all these different numbers floating around:

22690AA321 (OEM?)
0258003254 (Bosch?)
0258986002 (Bosch?)

I thought I was onto a winner when I found the majority saying the LS02 but then neither www.lambdasensor.com or www.cats-direct-shop.co.uk list this number???

After reading the lambdasensor.com website a bit more I thought I was once again onto a winner as mine has a 3 wire sensor (red,black,white) and I noticed the 18mm NTK Universal Titania (11014T18) has the same colours. Well bugger me if I wasn't back to square one when I read "If the sensor has one red wire with the possible exception of some Japanese vehicles, it will be a Titania sensor."

I'd be grateful if someone could clear all these numbers up for me & tell me:

1) Bosch or NTK?
2) Titania or Zirconia?
3) Does it matter if I get a 2 white 1 black sensor?
4) What is the proper universal part number for a MY95UK because the INT1633 is reasonably priced at £34.93 from cats direct & I can't find an LS02 anywhere?

LS02 appears to be 0258 986 502 (Universal) 3 wire 7ohm heater

Lambdasensors.com states the following:

Zirconia 'thimble' type
Element type - zirconium dioxide, thimble
Types available - one, two, three and four wire, 18mm thread
Heater resistance - (3 and 4 wire sensors only) 2 to 6.5 ohms
Output signal - oscillating 0.1 and 0.9 volts


Zirconia ‘thick film’ type
Element type - zirconium dioxide, planar
Types available – four wire, 18mm thread
Heater resistance - 12 to 15 ohms
Output signal - oscillating between 0.1 and 0.9 volts


Titania
Element type - titanium dioxide, planar
Types available - three and four wire 12mm and 18mm thread
Heater resistance - 4 to 7 ohms.
Output signal - oscillating between 0 and 1 volt or between 0 and 5 volts
(depending on make and number of wires)


Based on the fact that the most commonly used Lambda replacement is the Bosch LS02 (7ohm heater) which by my guess is going to be a Zirconia type Lambda I would say my choices are between the Zirconia "Thimble" type & the Titania.

By process of illimination and the fact it has to be around 7ohms with a red, black & white wire I would say the Titania is my best option?

I went to Halfords and got the 3 wire one for £25

I *think* its the L300. Theres 2 black and one white wire (or is it 2 white or 1 black?) anyway the odd colour wire is the signal, the other two (same colour) is wired to 0V and 12V - it doesn't matter which way round.

You have to chop the connector off the old sensor and solder it onto the Halfords one.

wire colours don't matter that much as instructions are sent on which to connect - very straight forward.

Spoke to Graham this morning & he wasn't sure which one I should get because of the wire colours on my current Lambda being red, black & white

I still don't know the difference between Titania & Zirconia I only know that the Zirconia is cheaper LOL Wonder if it will knacker the car if I get the wrong one as the outputs & Heater Ohms are v. similar??

Any 3-wire M18 thread Universal Lambda will do.
Alternativly get a 4-wire.
The 3-wire grounds through the downpipe.
The 4-wire grounds via the additional wire.

You will need a 'Zirconia' NOT a 'Titania'. Titania have reference in and out signals and sometimes combined heater/signal wires. Which you do not want.

You need Something like this (I have the 4-wire):

3-Wire

Colour Connection
Black - Signal
White - Heater
White - Heater 11983

Universal Zirconia Sensor
Output 0.1 to 0.9 Volt

4-Wire

Colour Connection
Black - Signal
Grey - Earth
White - Heater
White - Heater 11984

Universal Zirconia Sensor
Output 0.1 to 0.9 Volt

Bosch 0258003254 has apparently been superseded by :

Bosch 0258003995, which is good because it's a few quid cheaper. If you want to go Bosch (which will IMHO be better) the go to www.oxygensensors.co.uk , then select BOSCH from the side menu.

Just changed the Lambda & the Lambda link now works but tooooo much. When I start it the signal goes all the way to the right and stays on the last green

Any ideas?

Does it stay there? You sure you haven't used the 12v wire as the signal wire...?

Sorted it . When the garage rebuilt my engine they forgot to reconnect my Lambda Earth wire . Also the signal wire coming from the ECU is white, which added a fair bit of confusion when trying to wire up a 2 white/one black sensor

Out of interest which Lambda did you choose and is it still working?

I've got a MY99 UK Turbo which would be the best Lambda to go for in your opinion?

I'm in desperate need for a Lambda the car through up "Engine Check" code 32 today which is the o2 sensor.

I'm not 100% sure which Bosch sensor to get does anyone know the part number?

I'm looking at getting the Bosch 0258003995 from www.oxygensensors.co.uk i think this is the right sensor from reading above.

Is this the correct sensor?

In case it helps others i'd thought i'd mention that my local Halfords doesn't stock Lambda/O2 sensors anymore but i had excellent service from www.gendan.co.uk. £33 inc. delivery and VAT for a universal sensor, arrived next day.

This Lambda only lasted 6 months

It may be worth getting another brand if your expecting them to last. I dont know what make mine was but it wasn't Bosch or Denso.

What i initially thought was a Lambda fault was in fact a weak fuel pump causing my AFR guage to show a lean out at top end under full throttle.

I am now running another universal Lambda from Genden as before with no probs.
