Question Cold weather!

Why would my car (WRX03ppp) be down on power yesterday with ambient temps of 2-3 degrees...(felt like I was running at reduced boost/ignition)

...but today with ambient temps of 10-13 degrees it was pulling like a b@stard and felt (to use a highly technical term) 'right on it'!!!???

Same tank of fuel - the only difference (apart from the missus being in the car and she's not that big) - was the ambient temp.

I would've thought that I would experience more power at lower temps.

Is knock/det more of a problem at lower temps, i thought it was the other way round?

possible overboost problems when colder.. do you have a way of checking the knock?

Delta dash or knocklink.

No.
I was more curious than worried.
Is knock a problem in colder temps?

the air is more dense when colder so more gets into the cylinder for the same space hence the car goes better.. but that increase in go effects the turbo spool etc..

I am no expert beyond that but it was probably reducing the boost or ignition due to det or boost spikes..
