ABS Farce

ABS Farce
Just picked up the MY01 from a garage after the dealer arranged to have a leaking ABS pump replaced.
The mechanic said, "your ABS light is still on, didn't have time to check the sensor to see if it is OK"
Ran 3 miles down the road and the FMIC pipe blew off doing 50 mph. A big Whoosh and the car is dead.
Luckily i rolled into a layby and with a few tools put everything on again and off we went.
NOW, earlier today, bumped into the dealer at Boots the chemist whilst he was doing a little shopping IN MY CAR !!!
Go back to the fact the dealers mechanics didnt have time to do the job properly. Where do i go from here?
Any bright ideas on which angle to approach this from would be good.

There's two ways to go. Either the friendly pointing out of the facts and asking what they intend to do to resolve the problems without further inconvenience to you - this would be my opening line. The other option (I wouldn't use other than as a fall-back if they're stupid when you speak to them reasonably) is to get tougher, threaten to report them to head office, the press etc.
Another key point is whether you ever want to go back to them or not. If not, play hardball if you like. If they are the only convenient dealer, you might want to be a bit more pragmatic/amenable when speaking to them.

Thats fair enough, but its an ABS pump, not modified etc in the slightest.
The diagnosis was going to be electrical testing, surefire way to check if it is working.
The issue for me is the shopping trip eating away at the time the mechanics were to be working on the car.
