Help needed on a steering rack problem on a uk MY99. When the car is stationary engine off, if you rock the steering back and fourth there is a clonking noise from within the rack, i have had the car up to have a look, nothing seems loose or any freeplay in the trackrod ends, but you can feel the clonk/knock on the tie rod that comes out off the rack when the steering wheel is moved.
Before I bend over touch toes, and drop trousers at a Subaru dealer, has any one refurbished, or know the price, or where to obtain a replacement unit.
