Default Lambda sensor voltage output

Is the lambda sensor for the 1994 WRX a zirconia sensor, and if so does that mean that it's max output is 0.9v?

I have a AFR meter that measures 0.90-0.94v as a good mix, but I never get above 0.90v read on it. Is this a dodgy sensor, or just the wrong type, as I have read that it is the other kind of sensor that reads up to 1v

Thanks. What is the voltage read-out for a 'good' AFR then.
