Please Help - Heater Matrix
Hi,
I have a MY95 WRX.
Recently, I have noticed my windows were steaming up very easily, and the air from the heater matrix was not helping. I ensured that the air was not on recirc, but that did not help.
Additionally, I noticed a weird smell coming out of the heaters, especially when on hot. I thought it may be due to it not being used over the summer (heater, not car).
Today, I noticed smoke coming out of the heaters.
After reading some posts on here, I checked the passenger footwell and noticed water was dripping down there.
Now, I think I have a problem with the heater matrix. It may be a split pipe or I may need a new heater matrix altogther.
Can anybody tell me how I can check the pipes, etc. and if I need to remove the dash, how to do this.
I have an aftermarket alarm, turbo timer and such - I mention this as some of the wiring may be attached to the dash looms.
P.S. I am not too mechanically minded, so I would appreciate it if you could treat me like a dummy!
Thanks in advance.
