Default clutch is slipping in fifth

going through the gears and everything is hunky-dory.

in fifth gear with the loud pedal nailed to the carpet I get to 3k revs and it slips.
it rises about 500 revs without increase in engine speed and then catches itself back up again,
its intermittant as well.

Is it on the way out?
could it be mapped in this state?
any suggestions as Im after a 300/300 capable unit?

Forget them mapping! Sounds like it's gonna die.
Speak to Scooby clinic for a decent clutch at a decent price

mines slipped a few times now, it slipped on the td04

its now on a vf23 running 1.3bar peak and it doesnt slip, ive been planning to change it for months and months but its still holding together (and taking abuse)

the only thing i can think of is that the plate is getting contaminated and now and again you have to burn all the crap off??

its not getting changed till it breaks properlly lol

Alright mate.

Didn't you only recently have a new clutch fitted - at Olive Green?

I'm pretty sure mines on the way out as it's started slipping when cold, so my planned TD05 isn't going to help matters much

,my clutch was fitted about 7-8 months ago now Jay

its also stopped slipping, tried loading it up and the like but not a hint of slip.

however, I am going to get a new uprated orgasmic clutch kit for the map to ensure I can get the most from it.
watch this space for a 99 borg and beck clutch kit for sale for about £50
