Where do the injectors get their pluse from?

As per title, where do they get the pulse from to fire?

The engine management system has 4 signals that go out - one to each injector

Ok, where does the ECU get its pulses from to send to the injectors?

I'm not sure what logic it uses, probably the cam sensor or a combination of the crank sensor and cam sensor?
