If its an ECU with a Mines chip it will be mapped to run on 100RON (Jap Fuel) running lots of ignition advance and about ~19psig boost - a great combination for Detonation. The Z4 would be the safer option

Hi Guys,
Just spoke to API and Option Motorsport who have assured me that my MY93 WRX will be safe and run very well with the Mines Ecu I recently got from another member. I for one will not doubt the info that the above tuners have given me. My car certainly feels bloody quick even though I was running at only 8 psi, now running at 12 psi and oh my god do things feel good.
Regards
Chris

LOL..will be running sensible boost until a knocklink has been fitted, plus I seriously doubt API or Option MS would give me dodgy advice just to get the job of reparing it. Oh Well, guess time will tell.

the mines map runs very lean and over advanced for any uk fuel.
make sure you use optimax and a good octane booster to be on the safe side, i think you are wise to keep the boost down until the knocklink is fitted.
an afr guage is also a good idea.
