Default removing cat??

on a my96 import impreza where are both cats.? i have heard that the two cats are in the centre section and of someone else i heard that one cat is in the centre and one in the down pipe.reason for this q is that i wont to decat my car and if both cats are in the centre there will be no need to replace the down pipe saving lots of cash

Primary cat in the downpipe, secondary in the centre section.
Some imports had only a cat in the downpipe and resonator in the centre.

I thought my import had two cats but found the centre section was just a resonator box (after changing it for a decat!!)

Yep it gives it 25/30 bhp more (10/12 with downpipe, 4/6 with centre & 10/12 with backbox) Fuel economy will dip in the first month dramatically.....
