Question Removal of standard headunit/cd player

Hi,

How difficult is it to remove the standard headunit/cd player from a newage WRX? Can anyone give me any instructions on how to remove it?

Also, does anyone think that the standard speakers are really pants on the WRX? I thought they would have been better quality than that.

thanks in advance

Open the cupholder above the head unit. Undo 2 screws, pull clear, the last bit needs some help as it comes clear as there's a lumpy bit underneath. Pull the head unit surround away from the dash starting by the cupholder hole. There's a series of clips around the edge that will come clear quite easily with a gentle tug. It'll stay attached by 2 plugs into the air con (unplug by depressing the latch) and a thin flexy pipe for the temp sensor, just pulls off. Then 3 or 4 screws on each side of the head unit, 2 at the top and one or two recessed lower down.
