Default Replacement Intercooler

Hi, i have a 94 wrx with slanted intercooler, is there a direct replacement which is larger. i have tried fitting a my99 uk but this hits on the bulkhead. Has anyone fitted one without bashing the car to bits. Thanks in advance. Can't afford to go front mounted just yet...

i fitted a 2003 tmic to my car but it took me a fair while to do as the dumpvalve fowls with the intake pipes.
i had to manufacture a conversion pipe for this.
i also had to cut down the throttle intake by 5 mm and take 4 mm off the intrercooler side just to fit it in place.
to top it off ,,i had to modify the bracket that sits on the bulkhead,,just above the top gearbox mount with a nice little shaping tool i call a hammer !!!!!!!!!

after a weekends work and a few hours in the engineering workshop at work i managed to get it to fit,,,but its tight,,,, but its much better than the slanted version that was on before.

pics avalale if needed

all the best

thanks for the info, if i was to go front mounted, then would i need to get my td05 converted to f/e or is it ok to leave that as it is. also is there a cheaper way to go front mounted other than a kit from say pace products. i'm aware of the old phrase u get what u pay for, but i've seen front mounted coolers for about £160 from places like invo autos.

Nope - I am currently running a 90Deg cover TD05 with FMIC with no problems
IMHO the best 'value for money' FMIC is the one I have fitted - namely the HYBRID shown HERE

Dont forget to get an intercooler that suits the cars needs. No point getting one which exceeds your requirements as it will just mean unnecessary lag.
